What Are We Doing With Our Time

ALL TIME: 1 Cor 10:31---Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatever ye do, do all for the glory of God.

So, we can see from that as Christians before we do anything we should think it over and pray, and compare with the Word of God to see if it will be for the glory of God.

VACATION TIME: John 9:4---I must work the works of Him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

When we go on our vacation, do we go to church or do we stay at home with our relatives. This is where we can witness for Christ, by getting our unsaved folks to go to church with us. This is where the devil would get us out of the habit of going to church, if we do not watch out. The devil works at the job twenty four hours per day. Why shouldn't we give Christ our time, when He died and suffered for us?

RECREATION AND SPORTS TIME: Hebrews 13:21---Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight.

Now do not misunderstand me. I believe in good clean recreation, but let us ask ourselves this question. Are certain kinds of sports "pleasing in his sight?" Would we want Christ to come back after His bride if we were indulging in worldly amusement and recreation. As Christian we are to be an example to win people to Christ.

READING TIME: 2 Tim 2:15-16---Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

As Christians, we must be prepared to give an answer for the "Hope that lies within us." Do you have that hope in your heart today? If not, turn to Christ today. He will abundantly pardon you. Well, you say do you have some bible reference for that….1 Peter 3:15 says "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts and be ready always to give an answer."

Is everything that we read for the glory of God? So many thngs that are sold on the newstands are not fit for a Christian to read. Let us ask this question, Am I reading something that will poison my mind as a Christian. Does some of my reading have slang or by-words in it such as a lot of the funny books and magazines? I will say again a Christian has to be careful what he reads. Oh, you say, I like to read about adventure, love, and romance, and mystery stories. If you want to read about mysteries, study about David and Jonathan. If you want to read about love, read about Jacob working fourteen years for his wife. If you want adventure read about Daniel in the lions den and all of this will be clean wholesome reading.

VISITATION TIME: Christ said. "Ye shall be my witnesses." Are you witnessing for him? If you are not you had better be born again, because a man that has Christ in his heart will do witnessing. John 15:26-27---"But when the comforter is come whom I will send unto you from the Father even the spirit of truth which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me and ye shall also bear witness." Again I ask what are we doing with our time.

WORKING TIME: 2 Thess 3:10---"For even when we were with you this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat." We can apply that to our spiritual life too, if we do not work for God, He will not keep us filled.

PLEASURE TIME: Hebrews 11:24-25---By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter: Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the pleasure of sin for a season. Let our time be Spirit led and Spirit filled.

I sincerely hope that this message is a blessing to some one. If you are not save then give your heart to Christ. Let him have control of your time.
