The
Greatest Need
There is a vacant place
in the heart of every man that will be empty until it be filled with love
and obedience to God.
The experience of the years has
shown that every man really wants to be close to God. He may not confess
it to anyone, he may not even acknowledge it openly to himself, but
underneath there is the need and there is a half-drowned desire to be
saved-a desire that won't quite die.
Men may try to drown their innermost
longing by a show of independence, redoubled activity, a constant round of
pleasure, but to no avail. Their needy hearts still cry out for God.
You are no exception. You have
considered being saved, you have considered obeying God and his
commandments of love. Perhaps you have laughed at the idea, put it from
your mind-but never completely out of your mind. Like a haunting melody
that must be heard the pull to be saved persist, ever wooing you to God.
The need and desire is as ever present as the desire to breathe, to eat,
to live. What you need is God...This is the world's greatest need
today...The need of God..!!!
In Philippians 4 it says "God
will supply all our needs" and yet everywhere and almost everybody
has a need, whether its physical, material or spiritual. Is there any
problem in divine distribution? I don't think so.. The problem is not on
divine distribution. It is on our part. People have placed so much
emphasize on material needs that spiritual needs are neglected or have
little attention. People in the world today looks for material security
first before going to God. But Jesus said.. "Seek ye first the
kingdom of God.....". One of the greatest need today is the need
of God.
Rev 3:17---Because thou sayest, I am
increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou
art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked.
This is written to the church in
Laodicea.. Take note.. they say they have need of nothing...This is a very
dangerous state. People when they are increased with goods or prospering
feels comfortable. It's so easy to feel secured, presuming instead of
depending on God's grace. It is so easy to be satisfied with material
blessings that we have little or no desire for spiritual blessing. It is
so easy to become dependent on our physical resources that we feel little
need of spiritual need. We must keep in our mind that we are mere stewards
of what we possess now and we can't carry nothing out when the time is
come for us to leave this world. There is no way you can succeed in life
without God
2Cor 3:5---Not that we are
sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves, but our
suffiency is of God.
Whatever we possess, it is all from
God who giveth us richly all things to enjoy. We need God today, tomorrow,
everyday, until our very last day....our suffiency is of God.
Psa 51:2---Wash me thoroughly from
mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
Why did David said this thing? It is
because he knows that we are limited on what we can do.We can wash
ourselves outwardly and that is all we can do. We need God because only He
can wash the inside, only He can cleanse the soul.
Psa 41:4---I said, Lord, be merciful
unto me: heal my soul; for i have sinned against thee.
Again this is David asking God to
heal his soul.
Psa 106:26---Help me, O Lord my God:
O save me according to thy mercies.
David realized his need of God. He
acknowledged God. This is what the world needs today....to come into
realization of their true state...to come to God for healing of the soul.
Thousands of people knew they are sick in their soul but they don't want
to come to God who is able to heal the soul. And if that is the condition
that you are in, the enemy is holding you so tight...and that is what he
is going to do for he has only a short time left.
Think of tomorrow...If you die today
where will you be tomorrow? Have you ever thought of that? While there is
still time...Pray and come to God...Your greatest need.....is God.
