We live in a day and time when religion is so popular. Today is the day and time when everybody could explain a passage in the Bible, can quote every verse. This is the day of modern religion. Go to the church of your choice a very common by-word today. Sin more or less everyday, oh, were still in the flesh, were only human, God understands, once saved always saved. These are the most common terms that you will hear in the religious world today. Does the Bible tell that so? Let's check it out.!!

The big issue between pure religion and false religion is SIN. You can't sin and make it to Heaven. If there's sin in your life when you die, then Hell is your final resting place.

Is this just my opinion? No, it's God's law as you can read yourself in his word, the Bible. I know it's true since I haven't had to sin the moment Christ forgave me. I was a filthy, rotten sinner (and people thought I was a pretty good guy!).

Need proof? Read I John 3:8-9:

He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

This verse is very clear as far as its meaning is concern. If you commit sin then you are on the devils side.J esus said you cannot serve two masters. It is either God or the Devil. There is no neutral position. f people who commit sin will go to heaven, who then is going to hell. One thing is for sure, no sin can enter heaven.

Other scriptures to consider:

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

There is a need of being born again because men have inherited the carnal nature due to Adam's transgression in the beginning. In that state men cannot fellowship God. There must be a spiritual birth for men to worship God in spirit and truth.

John 9:31 Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

Many people ask themselves why God does'nt answer their prayer. Well,this verse answer that question. God heareth not the sinners. The only prayer he will hear from sinners is the prayer of repentance. God is a just God. He has given us so many promises in the Bible but we need to do our part before we can have the blessings of those promises.

1 John 1:6-10 If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness we lie and do not the truth.

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

This is the dividing point of the true and pure religion and the false religion. Many religion in the world today claim to have fellowship with God. hey claim to be the only true church. This brings confusion to many people. The surest thing is to find out the way they live. It is called the fruit test. Our Lord Jesus said that by their fruits ye shall know them. Walk is characterized in the Bible as our manner of life. If you tell people that you can live free from sin, they will point you to verse 8,but further study on this verse will show that John was speaking to people who are refusing to accept salvation and say there is no need of accepting Jesus. I f people can't live free from sin, then Jesus sacrifice on the cross is useless and therefore we still live in sin. But thank God that the blood has all power over all sin. That is what makes God's grace so amazing.

1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

1 John 2:6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

1 John 3:5-10 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

Again we have here the contrast between the children of God and that of the devil. And again the big difference is SIN. You can't sin and go to heaven. Pure religion teaches that you don't have to sin more or less everyday but if we commit ourselves totally to God then God will keep us through the power of the Holy Spirit not to commit sin. Jesus said to go and sin no more.

Romans 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

Romans 6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

< Revelation 21:7-8 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Lastly, I want you to make note of my last verse which simply explains what a pure religion is.
