Control
Your Thoughts
Think of a big
house.....What do you see in your mind?...nice living room?...nice
bedrooms?...nice yard?...beautiful carpet?....furnitures?....cars?....Very
nice....
Now, think of a sick man....what do
you see?...dying in bed?...in the hospital?...very
thin?....pale?....coughing?....
The greatest evidence of man's
freedom lies in his power to focus his attention on what he chooses.
Thoughts are the material by which
we live and work. Before anything else is accomplished of good or evil it
is thought in the mind. Thoughts are important. For as (a man) thinketh in
his heart, so is he...Pro.23:7
An evil person thinks of evil
things. A carnal person has all carnality in his mind. But a saved person
thinks of good things. He has holy thoughts.
Pro 4:23-Keep thy heart with all
diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
Our thoughts are determined by the
condition of our heart. Physically, our health condition depends on the
condition of our heart. It is the main organ of our body. It pumps blood
in and out of the body. That is the same thing spiritually if our heart,
the inner self is unhealthy then everything in us including our thinking
will be all...unhealthy..filthy.
Keep always in mind that we can
choose. We can fill our minds with the drab and the lowly or the rich and
noble, the impure and coarse or the pure and refined. We control our
thoughts by what we read and we look at. The "soul is dyed by the
color of our thoughts."
1 Cor 3.16--Know ye not that ye are
the temple of God, and that the spirit of God dwelleth in you? We, all
know the story of Moses when he talked with God. Why was the place where
Moses stood one day holy ground? Why did God told Moses to take off his
shoes because he was on holy ground? What made the ground holy? The answer
is whatever God touches becomes holy. The ground is holy because God was
there. We are holy. God reminded Moses. Like God to Moses, the spirit say
remove that from your life, for you are the temple of God. The Holy Spirit
lives within us and anything which is unholy cannot knowingly allowed.
God calls us to bring into captivity
every thought to the obedience of Christ-- 2 Cor 10:5
Paul points out how we can control
our thinking.
Philippians 4:8--Finally, brethren,
whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever
things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there
be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS. Paul's thought
is that we need to cultivate holy thoughts.
